Original electric blues by a veteran crew of songwriters, mining grooves and heart from the worlds of blues, rock, and rhythm.
The L&M Rhythm Kings offer their own spin on blues, R&B, and roots music while at the same time honoring those traditional forms. This, their first CD, is original songwriting wrapped in the traditions of electric blues with the tight grooves of roots rhythm and rock.
The players share a tight, instinctive, and spontaneous interplay that comes only from decades of playing together. While this is the band's first album of recorded music, the band has worked live shows for nearly ten years. And more, the players have worked together in different combinations since long before that. Having played together for so long, these guys know each other's styles inside out and it shows in the tightly focused performances and arrangements of these songs.
The band is joined on two tracks by the internationally famous blues guitar legend Ronnie Earl. Ronnie has mentored the band generously and is no less than a spiritual member. Also lending his guitar to the album is Chris Vachon, producer, engineer, and guitarist of famed blues outfit Roomful Of Blues. And yet this is not an all-star album; rather, it's a cohesive group of songs by a tight, seasoned group of club-crawling musical veterans at the peak of their powers. Enjoy!
