Sandy Carroll has had three songs in the top three of the Indie Blues Charts and her 2016 album, Last Southern Belle, reached #1 on the Roots Music Reports Contemporary Country Chart. Sandy has returned to her blues roots with Blues & Angels. She was a fixture on Beale Street in Memphis and has been honored with note on Beale Street. The album is produced by her three time Grammy winning husband, Jim Gaines. She is backed by the top studio musicians of Memphis and Mussel Shoals. She is a singer/songwriter/storyteller so this album is not your typical blues album. Her co-writers include Hall of Fame writer Mark Narmore as well as other writers of hit songs from Nashville and Mussel Shoals.
Going way beyond being a white girl with the blues, this time around Carroll takes it to church via Memphis and Mussel Shoals and makes you a true believer. Not gospel in the strict sense, her smoky vocals give you what you need and what you want with the backing band right in step.
