Robert Allen Parker is a Memphis guitarist who has had experience playing with artists such as Earl “The Pearl” Banks (blues), Hope Clayburn (funk / including a collaboration show w/ the Memphis Symphony Orchestra & 2 tours in Brazil), the Bluff City Backsliders (blues / folk), Rufus Thomas (soul), Gasoline Grace (rock), Valerie June (soul / country / blues), Gangsta Boo (rap), Candice Ivory (Neo Soul), the Sons Of Mud Boy (roots rock / blues), Leroy Hodges & Howard Grimes (Hi Rhythm Section) and Denise Lasalle (r&b) to name a few. As a solo artist, his first recording (2003) is a blues compilation he produced entitled "From The Crossroads To Beale Street" (featuring guest vocalists Preston Shannon, Daddy Mac, Sheba Potts-Wright, & Earl "The Pearl" Banks). Additionally, he recorded "Ravens" - a garage rock / psychedelic singer songwriter album, in 2009. In 2010, he recorded the garage rock album oriented "Black Heart." In 2015, he recorded the epic anything-goes rock'n'roll guitar double album "Freedom Ain't A Mystery."  For nearly 20 years, he has worked at the Memphis Music store on 149 Beale Street that specializes in blues, soul, gospel, and early rock’n’roll music. In 2013, he released the full length documentary film: "MEANWHILE IN MEMPHIS: The Sound Of A Revolution." He co-directed this award winning feature with Nan Hackman.
Recently, in addition to being a songwriter & recording artist, he has been playing guitar with the Southern rock / blues ensemble "Doc Fangaz & The Remedy" who play tuesday evenings at the legendary B.B. King's Blues Club on Beale Street. Also he is in a Memphis tribute band to the Allman Bros entitled "TROUBLE NO MORE."
