Echoes of Giants is a melodic progressive rock band formed in 2004 by childhood friends Wes Bolton and Tracy Thomas. Based on a deep love of all manner of music, Echoes of Giants became a creative outlet for Wes and Tracy to experiment sonically and share stories. Joined by bassist Rick Kaufmann for final writing/production sessions and vocalist Joey Myers for recording sessions, “At the End of Myself was released in 2013. An ambitious personal narrative, “At the End of Myself” received positive reviews and connected with people nearby as well as those far from the Missouri town where Echoes of Giants began.
Writing sessions for their second effort began immediately and new material was incorporated into live performances (including an appearance at Progtoberfest III – Chicago). Joined by Rick Kaufmann (bass), Joey Myers (vocals), and Theese Weber (vocals), “The Way to Us” follows the unconventional formation of a family through grief and loss to a place of refuge and joy. “The Way to Us” is set to release in late August 2018.
Additional personnel include Brad Jenkins (mixing/mastering), John Walker (live drums), Dean Renninger (photography, artwork design), and Mat Matlack (photography, videography).
“The Way to Us” releases on CD and Digital on all major platforms tomorrow. From the initial writing sessions nearly 5 years ago to the final mastering, the making of this album has been an amazing journey. Our designer, Dean Renninger, put together an incredible CD artwork package. The wallet and 12 page booklet contain all of the album lyrics and the artwork included adds another dimension to the story the album attempts to tell. We are incredibly excited to release this album tomorrow and share part of our story with you.
