Gritty blues-based rock, the kind of stuff a less-than sober Keith Richards would appreciate.
TG Swampbusters, a.k.a. Hamilton, Ontario’s Tim Gibbons, has released a new 12 song CD recording titled Swamp Rock Country Blues. The follow-up to his acclaimed 2015 release Swamp Tooth Comb, the new album is a nonstop thrill
ride of guitar driven blues music, clever lyrics and Gibbons’ whiskey soaked vocals. Swamp Rock Country Blues is a genre-bending one-way ticket to the mind’s juke joint, with highlight
tracks such as “Honky Tonk Song”, an ode to being a musician on the road; “Five Minutes Past Midnight” celebrating blues on the radio airwaves and how everything is alright when blues music is
on. The rollicking “One Hundred Proof Blues” is a straight up boogie rocker, set in the bayou. Gibbon’s gets somewhat cheeky with his homage to the complexities of relationships on “She Always Ate Her
Crackers In Bed”, “Pitching A Tent”, “Whiskey Woman and "Twist My Rubber Arm”. All 12 tracks were penned by Gibbons, a masterful wordsmith whose song “The Lonely One”
appeared in the Oscar Award winning film Sling Blade in 1996. Swamp Rock Country Blues also features TG Swampbusters’ long time musical cohorts Patch on drums, ‘Swampy’ Joe Klienfiltr on
bass and was recorded at Blue Tilt Studio in Hamilton.
