Originally released in 1989 Dark Side Of The Man was Ross Wilson's first solo album. Founder, lead vocalist & songwriter of seminal Australian groups Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock, Ross's solo debut features major international players & the hit Bed Of Nails.
Recorded in New York, Sydney and Melbourne, Dark Side Of The Man marked Australian Rock star Ross Wilson's solo album debut. Its release in 1989 led to chart success with the single Bed Of Nails and marked departures in style from his earlier hit groups Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock. There are funk-rock injections from members of Parliament/Funkadelic , jazzy arrangements and country & roots leanings. There's a lot to enjoy in these 11 songs with classy contributions from Wilson's songwriting partners Eris O'Brien and John Pullicino and his (then) wife Pat Wilson (Bop Girl).
The NYC Record Plant sessions feature the following great musicians
Drums: Ricky Fataar (Beach Boys, Bonnie Raitt, Eric Clapton, producer)
Guitars: Shane Fontayne (Merchants Of Venus, Bruce Springsteen, Graham Nash), Chris Spedding (Sharks, Robert Gordon), Mike Hampton (Parliament/Funkadelic),
Bass: Daryl Johnson (Neville Bros, Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan) and Barry Johnson (Chic)
Keyboards: Bernie Worrell (Parliament/Funkadelic, Talking Heads), Joy Askew, Richard Tee
