PRIME MOVER is a combination of Finnish and Swedish musicians. Their debut album "Put In Perspective" (2001) is a unique marriage of grunge and Progressive rock. The group throws quite a surprising range of influences and sounds into the melting-pot, but still comes out with something that makes sense. "Alias Drivkraft" (2004) Belonging to the Swedish minority in Finland, the musicians went on a voyage in search for their own musical identity, and started writing songs in their own native tongue. The music that evolved defies classification, making PRIME MOVER a true Progressive band since "Alias Drivkraft" (2004) pulls and fuses pieces of many different genres of music. Essentially, the music is a kind of jazzy Progressive folk-rock, spiced up with vintage flauvours. "Imperfekt" (2007) is another album that simply defies categorization. It has clear influences of classic symphonic Progressive rock, but includes the soaring vocals of pop music, various traces of electronic music, and pounding heavy-metal licks. The album has less folk music influences than its predecessor and a darker mood, somewhat closer to the Scandinavian School. To be discovered !
