When the two original members of The Captain Legendary Band began playing together, it was to entertain the campus party crowd at LSU, in Baton Rouge. Since that start in 1999, Charlie Hager and Dustin Logan have added band members, written songs, and along with Jeff Hager, and Jason Spencer, released their second CD, My Saving Grace.
Their originals successfully blend Country and Southern Rock styles, with clever lyrics. Talented musicians and vocalists, as well as gifted songwriters, their shows are a high energy party where every one has a good time. The group has shared the stage with Robert Earl Keen, Billy Joe Shaver, Cory Morrow and Kinky Freidman.
Their debut album, Those Songs, was well received by their fans and had positive reviews, with the “Kemah Bay” single is receiving air time on several Texas radio stations.
“Refreshingly down-to-earth, the Captain Legendary Band is a breath of fresh air…a 12 cut bronco-buster of a ride showcasing their Texas Outlaw and traditional country influences, with a shot of southern rock to keep you on the edge of your seat….Jinelle Boyd, MyTexasMusic.com.
"My first impression was The Flying Burrito Brothers meet Merle Haggard…way out of the ordinary…Dave Miller, North of the Border.
Their long awaited second release, My Saving Grace, is destined to take these guys up the charts.
“Cleverly embedded within this feel-good collection of songs is an emergence of painstaking art…TCLB has emerged as a Texas music force…Lucky Boyd, MyTexasMusic.com
