This band hails from Liverpool and George Wickstead, front man and founder, has taken this band from its conception in the late 70’s to present and in that time has toured all over the UK and mid Europe.
There is no doubt that he has become over the years a beacon for live entertainment and still gets that buzz live music gives.
A new era starts and a new CDd is forecast and more live shows both here and Europe – there is no stopping this powerful in your face brand of energetic rhythm and blues.
George on lead vocals and harp, and plenty of Liverpool banter, takes no prisoners and gets to business with ‘Ridin’ on the L&N’, ‘Long Grey Mare’, ‘Treat Her Right’, ‘Messin’ With The Kid’, ‘Hoochie Coochie Man’, ‘Come On In’ – ending the first set with “Gloria”, the Van Morrison hit.
Colin Guthrie superb on lead guitar – a gifted musician – played his last gig with the band and is moving to pastures new, we wish him well. The rhythm section of Mike Cain on bass guitar and on the drums Matt Shaw – they have an association going back over 25 years and it showed amazing work from this magnificent pairing.
The second set cracked off with ‘Woolly Bully’, ’29 Ways’, ‘Lonely Avenue’, ‘That’s It I Quit’, ‘Bullfrog Blues’, ‘Bad Is Bad’, ‘King Bee’, and ‘Smokestack Lightning’.
The dancers danced, the crowd shouted for more, a night of live entertainment from a band that has it all.
