Mark Safan, a visual artist and a musician, was born in Los Angeles, California, and received formal art training at various universities and institutes from Santa Barbara to Vancouver in the late sixties and early seventies.
Mark released “I’m On My Way” in 1976 courtesy of Warner Brothers Records. He made a guest appearance on T-Bone Burnett’s 1982 release, “Trap Door,” also on Warner Brothers. In 1981, he released “Mark Saffan and the Keepers” on Planet Records. He then contributed “Win In The End” on the “Teen Wolf” soundtrack released by Metronome in 1985, and “I’m On My Way” on the “Dream” soundtrack released by Universal in 2005.
Mark Safan, a quasi-renaissance hombre, has served two demanding muses in his unpredictable career. He presently exhibits his celestial abstract paintings in New York-where he currently lives-and Berlin, where he has found a receptive audience for his romantic painterly vision. Musically, he has worked with such luminaries as Harry Nilsson, T-Bone Burnett and Richard Perry, the latter producing his debut record "Mark Safan and The Keepers" which included songs co-written by band member and drummer Harry Stinson. Jim Tract was the associate producer. He has also written hit songs for Captain & Tennille and Andrew Gold, as well as, Bonnie Hayes and Nick Gilder.
Mark is currently working with Nashville impresario Jim Tract of Adroit Records where a much anticipated solo recording is in the works.
