Musicians:
Nikos Spyridakis - Vocals
Alexis Ktistakis - Guitar
Nikos Trialonis - Guitar
Thanos Sgouridis - Bass
Giorgos Ktistakis - Drums

The music is a wonderful "In your face" progressive metal, with clear influences from Nevermore, with no tiring long lengthed solos, bridges and fillings, the band was not trying to prove that they are virtuosos, but they successfully proved that they are excellent instrument players, composers and producers (the production is home made). The songs, which most of them are composed by Alexis Ktistakis, are so careful composed, that the care is qualitatively similar to a cardiac surgeon while he operates. Each note is, if not perfect, almost perfect in the proper position. ( review taken from Metalzone.gr )

11. Pink Champagne - 2:31
12. The Masquerade Is Over - 2:49

One of the many unfairly overlooked albums from Witherspoon's early career, Hey Mrs. Jones is a marvelous discovery, although its lack of stylistic unity, whilst showing Witherspoon's versatility, also accounts for a occasionally confusing listening experience. The best cuts on the album are priceless Witherspoon -- "The Masquerade Is Over" contains one of Witherspoon's most emotional and desperate performances, while "Have Faith" is a great gospel song, sung with genuine fervor. The album is marred slightly by a few novelty numbers, and it's hard to see anyone listening to "Pink Champagne" or "Lovey Dovey" many times, but this is a slight criticism of an album which is still one of Witherspoon's greatest.

10. It Only Happens Once - 3:28
11. I'm Beginning To See The Light - 2:57
12. Don't Worry 'bout Me - 3:28

This 1961 large-band jazz date places Jimmy Witherspoon on the Reprise label in the company of some heavy hitters -- Teddy Edwards on saxophone, Gerald Wilson on trumpet, Gerald Wiggins on piano, trombonist Herbie Harper, bassist Jimmy Bond, and guitarist Al Viola -- just to name a few. The program on Spoon, of course, is mostly standards, with Witherspoon doing a wondrous job in his readings of "Lover Come Back to Me," "Ain't Misbehavin," "It Only Happens Once," and "A Blues Serenade." In addition, his takes on Duke Ellington's "I'm Beginning to See the Light," "Do Nothin' 'Til You Hear from Me," and "Just a Sittin' and a Rockin'" are startling interpretations. The arrangements here, by Bob Florence, are colorful, and just large enough to highlight Witherspoon's open baritone. The contrast between the orchestra's pop-jazz leanings and Witherspoon's bluesy swing are sometimes hair-raising. The strange reverb sound that comes across in Collectables' CD remaster is a bit irritating, but this is the only way this brilliant session is available on compact disc. This is one of those recordings that offers a true starting point for the mature Witherspoon at the absolute top of his powers as a song interpreter and singer supported by a deeply sympathetic orchestra.

Anything Goes is the second studio album by American country music duo Florida Georgia Line. It was released on October 14, 2014, by Republic Nashville. The release of the album was announced August 15 from Central Park in New York City on Good Morning America. The album was produced by Joey Moi. Its first single, "Dirt", became Florida Georgia Line's sixth number one hit when it peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
Anything Goes has received mixed reviews from critics. Writing for Allmusic, Stephen Thomas Erlewine criticized the anonymity of the duo and their music, claiming that "they're playing to the largest possible audience, so nobody should be surprised that Anything Goes is so broad it avoids such messiness as personality." He awarded the album 3 stars out of 5. Tom Roland awarded the album 4 out of 5 stars in his review for Billboard, saying that "it shores up the duo's country flanks, and demonstrates that FGL intends to aggressively protect its progressive place in the genre, one that the act essentially designed on its own."
The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 197,000 copies. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA on December 1, 2014. As of February 2015, the album has sold 823,000 copies in the US.
In Canada, the album debuted at number two on the Canadian Albums Chart, selling 16,000 copies.

11. Another Heartbeat - 4:34
12. Country Angel - 4:39

I’ve been meaning to write a retro-review of this bad boy for a long time since it’s the very definition of “buried treasure.” Sadly, it’s an equally good example of a winning release that slipped through the cracks and fell into oblivion. Hall Aflame was a project launched by Metal Church founder/guitarist/main writer Kurdt Vanderhoof after quitting the band due to tour burnout. While there are trace elements of his main band in the sound. Guaranteed Forever is a weird amalgam of southern hard rock, blues and metal that borrows heavily from acts like The Cult,  Jackyl, Tesla and The Four Horsemen. Vanderhoof brought an extremely high level of writing to the project and the result is one highly addictive rock platter that screams beers,  bars, pickup trucks and good times. While the whole album is great, there are a few superb songs on here that really should be heard by everyone because they’re just that fookin good!
The rowdy, southern-friend, hard rock urgency of opener “Shake the Pain” should clue listeners in that they may have found something a bit special. Vanderhoof rocks out some simple, but huge, driving riffs and vocalist Ron Lowd delivers a barn-burning performance falling somewhere between Jackyl‘s Jesse James Dupree and Mike Howe (Metal Church, Heretic) who provides guest vocals on one track. The inclusion of harmonica adds to the moonshine and alligator vibe and the whole song just rocks hard and rides free. Things continue on in high gear with the bad attitude and biker charm of “Child of Medicine” and Lowd again shows himself to be a top-notch hard rock singer full of bourbon, brawn and buckshot.
One of the huge standouts comes with “The Money” which has some similarity to the darker stuff from theHall+Aflame Mike Howe era of Metal Church, but it still has a bluesy, hard rock swagger that sets it apart. Everything about this song just clicks and the band catches white lightning in a dirty beer bottle. The acoustic refrains amid the generally hard  music are genius and Lowd outdoes himself jumping back and forth between a raspy roar and softer, emotional singing. The chorus hits like a tractor loaded with napalm and replays are guaranteed forever.
The middle section of the album is full of enjoyable, memorable cuts like country-rock ballad “Cold Wind”, the Texas biker bar rumble of “No How, No Way” and the beers-to-the-sky anthem “Pirate’s Life” which is about as rabble-rousing as hard rock gets. Also of note is the macho bravado of “Feed the Fire” and the southern boogie of “Pray to God.”
Things wrap up with yet another must hear tune called “Another Heartbeat” which is firmly ensconced in my best songs of all time list due to it’s hard-edged, rough and dark vibe and super hooky chorus. Lowd outdoes himself on this one and it’s a perfect hard rock song.
Kurdt Vanderhoof was the only musician of note here, and he delivers a ripping performance, laying down catchy riff after riff. More impressive still is his writing which dabbles in several genres and hits all the right notes while remaining amazingly accessible. Surprisingly, the real star is Ron Lowd who proves his worth on every track and shows a great deal of versatility as the material flows from country to hard rock and into metal. The man has a powerhouse voice and a true flair for knowing when to power up and dial back. I have no fucking idea where Vanderhoof found him or where the hell he went after this album (nor can I even find a real picture of the guy), but I love his voice and wish he did something… anything else! The rest of the band is also excellent and Brian Smith’s bass adds extra swagger as Tom Weber provides a hard-driving, heavy-handed performance behind the kit.
When Guaranteed Forever was released, it went nowhere fast. Metal Church fans wanted it to be harder and it never found an audience of its own, which is a shame because this should’ve gotten a lot of radio play on hard rock stations. Although a second album was allegedly written, Vanderhoof eventually went back to Metal Church and the rest of the band faded into the woodwork. There have been scattered rumors of a reunion and that mythical second album seeing the light of day, but after twenty-one years, I’m a bit skeptical about that happening. Regardless of the stillborn band history, if you love hard rock and want to unearth a true diamond in the genre, look no further (though finding this may take some looking in and of itself). You’ve probably slept on this record your whole life. The sleeper must awaken!

Working once again with producer / keyboardist Marvin “Tony” Hemmings (Montel Jordan, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Jeff Lorber and Kirk Whalum) Phillip “Doc” Martin’s 11-track collection Pocket Love puts Martin’s fresh horn melodies front and center. The bright and spirited atmosphere-rich soul ballad title track and a lush, seductive cover of the Grover Washington, Jr. classic “Just The Two of Us” feature the distinctive tones of Grammy winning guitarist Paul Brown. Elsewhere, the percussive mid-tempo seduction “Club Life” features exciting horn doubling textures, old school key harmonies, trumpet and flugelhorn. The moody and whimsical ballad “Black Shoebox” finds Martin soaring over an easy shuffling groove, while the spirited jam “Hip Today” blends the best of modern and old school sensibilities.
Other highlights include the mystical soul-jazz sheen and dark guitar strumming on “Groove Love” providing a foundation for Martin’s candlelit sax passion; the crunch-groove and wistful synth harmony driven “LA Nights”; the swaying, sensual funk ballad “Pardon Me”; and the high octane, brass-fired jam “REM Funk”. The saxophonist closes Pocket Love with an hypnotic cover of John Legend’s #1 ballad “All of Me,” performed to perfection as a stripped down duet by Martin and Hemmings.

TORGA OSTERA is a promising new band from central Portugal that consists of Joao Francisco on vocals and guitar, Jorge Marinheiro (who replaced Jose Monteiro in 2012) on keyboards, Eurico Moleirinho on bass and Renato Dias on drums.
They describe themselves as a Space Rock-inspired band and they sure produce the goods with a blend of music that's fashioned around late-sixties and seventies British psychedelic rock and Portuguese music. The sound of their debut album is primarily based on mellow PINK FLOYD inspired grooves, not unlike some of the works of ELOY and NOVALIS, but also modern bands like NEGATIVE ZONE and AIRBAG, although unlike those bands, lyrics are in the band's mother tongue, where comparisons might be draw with the work of fellow Portuguese artists like PETRUS CASTRUS, JORGE PALMA or the more recent TORANJA. They pride themselves on their mix of analog and digital recording, relying on the use of a series of vintage equipment to produce new, but still familiar sounds.
Their debut album ''Queda Ascendente'' (2012) was recorded in Portugal but mastered in the UK by producer Jon Astley who has worked with a host of famous artists but is probably best known for his work with THE WHO. The result of this undertaking is a collection of laid-back guitar proposals containing lengthy instrumental passages. The keyboard work of Monteiro is never obtrusive and blends in nicely with the twin electric guitars in similar manner to that of Rick Wright. When you factor in the female backing vocals and slide guitars the take on PINK FLOYD is strengthened. Lyrics deal with philosophical issues and the Portuguese rhythm of life, which gives the music a very localized, national feel. The diverse musical influences of the group (which range from 70's classics of prog, funk and also punk, and national and foreign acts like CLA, PLUTO or RADIOHEAD) anticipate a more song-driven approach in future releases.
While it isn't innovative or challenging, it's wonderfully executed. Highly recommended.

ENDLICH ALLEIN (which translates as 'alone at last') are a late 90's Italian prog band in the vein of H20, COOPERATIVA DEL LATTE and ATON'S. Very little is known about them except for an album they released in 1996 under Mellow Records, titled "Le Voci Del Mondo".
Rooted in the 70's prog tradition, the album features a dozen short but pleasantly melodious songs with classical guitar interludes, somewhat more in the neo-prog vein than pure prog. The few improvised passages are well balanced with the structured orchestral parts.
Fans of the above bands may want to check them provided they don't mind a less adventurous approach.

Weldon Myrick - pedal steel, dobro
Buddy Spicher - fiddle, viola

David Briggs - played piano on "More Than Ever" and "Anyway I Love You" and organ on "Long Way Home"
Glenn Spreen - String arrangements on "To The Morning" and "Wysteria"
Bill Purcell - String arrangements on "Hickory Grove"

Over the course of his career, Dan Fogelberg has become identified with a particular sort of heavily arranged soft rock. It is therefore particularly interesting to listen to his first album and hear him experimenting, seeking the balance between an overtly countrified sound and something more original and personal. Some things about Home Free show that Fogelberg had figured out his strengths well before he went near the studio. The songs here are better and more coherent than much of his later work, with a directness that makes it easy to gloss over the occasional banalities and platitudes. As always, his splendid delivery makes it easy to excuse the lyrical flaws; nobody else ever sounded this confessional and meditative while singing in front of a full orchestra. That string section appears on most tracks and sometimes verges on intrusive. Indeed, at times Norbert Putnam's production sounds so cinematic that one wonders if this is a film score, as on the opening "To the Morning." Happily, not every cut is this heavily produced, and lighter tunes like "Stars" and "Wysteria" have hints of country and bluegrass along with album-oriented rock in a style similar to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young or the Eagles. Sometimes the influences are very overt; the album's closer, "The River," sounds like a Neil Young outtake, from the bleak subject matter to the spare, pounding piano arrangement. Fogelberg toyed with a variety of styles on his first release, and though things aren't completely integrated, the album is all the better for it.
When it was re-released on CD in the late '80s, Home Free was remixed -- apparently by Fogelberg and Putnam -- possibly because the original mix did have a certain muddiness that was difficult to overcome using the digital technology of the period, and many of the songs on the resulting Sony Music CD sound quite different in texture and detail from the original vinyl release. On the opening number, "To the Morning," the new edition reduced the presence of the orchestra and brought up the piano and the harpsichord, moving them forward so that the latter, instead of being in the background, is now the lead instrument in the middle of the song; on "Stars," the bass is pushed back, and the percussion is moved up in prominence once the backing instruments do come in; "More Than Ever" offers a leaner band sound than the original mix, less country than country-rock, and with the drums moved up over several layers of guitar; the string accompaniment on "Hickory Grove" has been altered considerably, so that it is hardly audible in the introductory section of the song; the fiddle accompaniment that opens "Long Way Home (Live in the Country)" has been altered completely and the double-tracking eliminated, and the overall band sound suppressed in favor of one of the guitars, ultimately giving it less of a country music feel; "Anyway I Love You" has had a much heavier drum part brought up, which gives it a somewhat more driving feel than the original; "Wysteria," which recalled "Guinevere" from the first CSN album, has had some reverb added but is otherwise very close to what it was; and "The River" has been given a more subtle mix, with Fogelberg's voice more isolated for clarity and the accompanying band track coming in more quietly, with the bass pushed back in the mix. These are not huge differences, although they have resulted in a slightly reduced running time, 46 minutes instead of 47. Those seeking the original mix -- which fares just fine in post-2000-era digital audio -- should get either the old LP or the 2006 double-CD set of Home Free/Souvenirs from Beat Goes On, which used the original master as its source for Fogelberg's debut album.

Heal My Soul has been compiled with the participation and full approval of the Jeff Healey Estate to coincide with what would have been Healey’s 50th birthday on March 25th, 2016. Healey is remembered as one of the most outstanding guitarists and performers of the past 30 years. After losing his sight during childhood, he developed the distinctive lap-style guitar technique that helped bring him international fame.
"In sharing this significant release, The Jeff Healey Estate is making a statement to the world,” says Cristie Healey, Executor/Co-Administrator of the Jeff Healey Estate. “Remarkable, musical treasures that Jeff left behind will be made available for us to experience for years to come. The unearthing of this lost album is a project that will highlight Jeff’s incredible talent. With this gift of never before released amazing music, we invite Jeff’s fans to join us in celebration of his 50th birthday."

Montgomery-Gentry have been through a lot in the last year, particularly Eddie Montgomery. In September of 2010, the band parted company with longtime label Sony Music Nashville. In December, Montgomery underwent surgery for prostate cancer. That same month, his wife of 20 years filed for divorce. Rebels on the Run, helmed by producer Michael Knox, was recorded in the aftermath of all this, and released within a year on the pair's indie imprint Average Joe's Entertainment. The two are well-known for electrifying live shows and hard-rocking singles that straddle the line between volume-cranking, hard Southern rock and contemporary country's obsession with '70s and '80s pop. Of the 11 new songs here, there are a slew of over-the-top rockers, including the album-opening anthem "Damn Right I Am," "So Called Life," and the closer, "Work Hard, Play Harder." "Simple Things" uses the same electric guitar that marked John Mellencamp's '80s records. Of course there are a couple contemporary country-pop/rockers that are standard fare, including "Damn Baby," the good-time paeans "Ain't No Law Against That," the title track, and the single "Where I Come From." There is also a pair of ballads in "Missing You" and "Empty" — the latter cops the opening phrase from Curtis Mayfield's "People Get Ready" note for note. Rebels on the Run fits together quite well as an album, and there are numerous cuts here to be chosen for second and even third singles — including the truly awful "I Like Those People," with guests Charlie Daniels and Randy Owen — it's pure radio schmaltz with the now de rigeur "just us country folks" theme. The drums actually sound like drums — unusual for an album in this genre — and while the guitars are overly compressed, they still give the illusion of sounding somewhat ragged. That said, Rebels on the Run is the most consistent offering from Montgomery-Gentry since 2006's Some People Change, even if it doesn't quite scale those heights.

The Nightporters - Feelin' Good

Bitrate: 320K/s
Year: 1997
Time: 36:29
Size: 83,9 MB
Label: Indigo (2001)
Styles: Blues/Rhythm & Blues/British Blues

 1. Mellow Down Easy - 3:33
 2. Let 'Er Roll - 3:04
 3. Feelin' Good - 5:47
 4. Hip Shake - 7:37
 5. Blue And Lonesome - 3:24
 6. Rollin' And Tumblin' - 5:30
 7. Certainly All - 2:34
 8. Love In Vain - 4:57

The U.K.'s kings of Rockin' Rhythm & Blues. With their musical roots in pure 1950's R&B and their respect for the British Blues tradition, they have produced something out of the ordinary. The classic debut album from 1997.
This British band recorded their debut album in four days, mostly live in the studio. It's energetic bar-band R&B/rock crossover, a style that had been plumbed for decades prior to this effort, and will probably be around for as long as electric guitars are. Consisting entirely of covers, the eight-song set is not as cliched in song choice as it could be, but neither is it that exotic, including the likes of "Hip Shake," "Rollin' and Tumblin'," "Love in Vain," and Little Walter's "Mellow Down Easy" and "Blue and Lonesome." Lead singer Ian Roberts' voice is neither that good nor colored with nuance -- qualities that are absolutely essential if you want to make your mark using both styles and material that have been around the block so often. As a live act, it's a fair bet they're entertaining and capable of getting the joint bopping. If you're going to listen to these songs on a CD player, though, why should you settle for something like this when so many have done this sort of music (and, often, these exact same songs) with more personality and distinction? Originally released in 1997 on their own Wang label, it was reissued in 2001 by Indigo.

American Gothic is the third studio album by American singer-songwriter David Ackles. It was released on July 4, 1972 by record label Elektra.
Upon its release, Ramparts called the album "Vivid, lyrical – but at times maudlin and self-indulgent, American Gothic is [Ackles'] best to date". Robert Christgau's review was critical, writing "'I won't get maudlin,' Ackles promises midway into the second side, locking himself in the barn as the dappled stallion gallops to join his brothers and sisters on the open range with his mane flying free in the breeze."In its retrospective review, AllMusic wrote "American Gothic remains one of those great albums that never found its audience. It waits to be rediscovered."
American Gothic was included in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. Mojo called it "one of the most beautiful but rarely heard albums of his era"

One Bad Son’s new album, Black Buffalo, builds on the success the prairie-reared four-piece achieved with their 2012 self-titled album, and promises to hit rock fans around the world in a big way. Fueled by the success of three major radio hits from the last album (“Scarecrows”, “It Ain’t Right” and “Retribution Blues”), the band spent the last two years touring constantly, converting audiences and gaining legions of loyal fans across the country.
This extended time on the road shines through on Black Buffalo. The Vancouver-based band stretches out on their fourth full-length album, hitting new levels in songwriting, performance and feel. Beyond the hard rock glory of “Vinyl Spin Burner,” “Love/Sick/Love” and “Land of the Saints,” there’s the rootsy “Decades” and smoky, Johnny Cash-inspired “The Outlaw Josey Wales.” “Satellite Hotel” is the first single, and is new territory for the band — dark and brooding, yet somehow the most uplifting song that the band has written.
Singer Shane Connery Volk, drummer Kurt Dahl, guitarist Adam Hicks and bassist Adam Grant agree that Black Buffalo is the record they’ve wanted to record since forming in 2004. “Our goal was to capture on record our live intensity, that sort of contained chaos, that we’ve become known for and make it sound massive. It’s like the energy and magic I hear on Zeppelin and Hendrix and Soundgarden records,” Dahl says.
Producer Eric Ratz (Monster Truck, Billy Talent) was a key factor. The band had not met him before he flew to Vancouver from Toronto in March to start recording. “We had a 10-minute phone call to see if he was cool. It was like a speed date,” says Dahl. “He sounded like the Dude from Big Lebowski, so that was an automatic green light. It helped that he liked the same music and had the same vision as us for the record”.
Ratz was impressed by the early demos that the band sent him, and helped whittle down the 30-plus demos that the guys had been working on to arrive at the final 11-track album.
Volk, a cerebral singer drawn to history, westerns, politics and justice, picked some different themes for his lyrics on Black Buffalo.  “I’m not a fan of just writing about girls or even my own personal experiences, although those do creep in there,” Volk says. “I’m a huge history buff and a lot of it is still valid when you look at what the government does to its own people. I’m happy I got to explore new lyrical territories on this album.”
In their tenth year as a band, One Bad Son seems to be hitting their stride as songwriters and performers. A decade of hard work and nose-to-the-grindstone commitment has culminated in Black Buffalo, which promises to keep the boys on the road and writing songs for years to come.

As with many listeners, I was late in discovering this title, due mostly to the lack of Mellow distribution in the United States. Truly, this is one of the finest albums of the label, making it all the more a shame that the group disbanded soon after making it. This is one of the best Italian symphonic rock album of the 90s, taking a step forward from Eris Pluvia in their merging of a modern instrumental line-up with a classic progressive sound. Aviolinee Utopia were a six-piece of vocals, bass, guitars, keys, drums, and saxes, and they flesh out a sound that is influenced by many a progressive group, without forgetting that what makes the music fresh is to combine these influences into something that doesn't play out any single influence too strongly. Aviolinee Utopia have the modern slant of Eris Pluvia, but their sound is more aggressive and prone to moments of strange invention and tangents that are surprising and exciting. Perhaps the closest analog would be DFA, as Aviolinee Utopia have the same penchant for the guitar outburst - take the 7 1/2 minute "Marsiglia" with its Gong-like vamp, a moment that elicits goosebumps on an orchestral scale. The album's finest vocal moment is "L'Altra Parte." I don't think it's too far off to say that Giuliano Lott probably draws influences from both Demetrio Stratos and Sting, or at the very least, he sounds like a mixture of the two. His voice isn't overwhelming and fits the music very well, taking appropriate moments to play his part and leaving plenty of room for instrumentals. One hopes that such a fantastic release will find its way into more CD players; this one is still in print and available, so find it while you can.

10. Late night morning coffee - 3:51
11. For a long time - 3:02
12. Thirty (bonus track) - 3:23

A few years after Alan’s debut I think he still delivered a strong context-bound next chapter to the two previous albums. There is a little less attention to deeper arrangements, but the songs still sound fine, even when several of them are a bit more influenced by country-rock. The overall feeling is light and reveals some contentment and a certain positivism expressed by sunny flavours and a happy and a light feeling which may be somewhat typical for citizens from sunny California. The song “Good morning world”, standing for a hopeful new beginning, is taken also to this second solo album, with a radio friendly happy version. And also that old love isn’t forgotten, which can be noticed in almost every song, but despite my remarks on the previous album, the positiveness and energy of it, is still able to live on and feed his actions further. I also like very much the 12-string driven songs. The bonus track, referring to the funny feeling that at 30 years old he still is playing rock’n roll is a bit lighter in style, but as a song still fits well as an addition to this chapter or period

Wright was born in Leeds, England in 1947 and his family migrated to Melbourne, Australia when he was nine. They moved to Sydney in 1960 and lived in Villawood near the Villawood Migrant Hostel. He was lead vocalist for local band, The Outlaws and by 1964 had formed Chris Langdon & the Langdells, which initially played The Shadows-styled surf music but converted to beat music under the influence of The Beatles. After a Langdells performance, Wright met the Dutch-born, Johannes Hendrikus Jacob van den Berg (later Harry Vanda) who was staying at Villawood Migrant Hostel and his compatriot Dingeman van der Sluys (later Dick Diamonde). The pair convinced Wright to form a band with Vandenberg's friend and fellow hostel resident Scottish-born George Young. Together with another Englishman, Gordon "Snowy" Fleet, they formed The Easybeats in mid-1964. Initial line-up of The Easybeats was Diamonde on bass guitar, Fleet on drums, Vanda on guitar, Wright on vocals and Young on guitar.During his time with The Easybeats, Wright was popularly and affectionately known as "Little Stevie"After the break-up of The Easybeats in 1969, Wright returned to Sydney from UK, he formed a backing group, Rachette. He produced the debut single for local band Bootleg, "Whole World Should Slow Down", in 1970. By late 1971, he was in Perth and joined Likefun with Ray Hoff on vocals, Morri Pierson on vocals, Shirley Reid on vocals, John Tucak on bass guitar and Alan Wilks on organ. He soon returned to Sydney and from mid-1972 took the role of Simon Zealotes in the Australian stage production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Also in 1972, he joined Black Tank with Rory O'Donoghue on guitar and vocals, Ken Firth on bass guitar and Greg Henson on drums.Wright signed with Albert Productions label in late 1973 which reunited him with former band mates Vanda & Young who had returned from UK and were now staff producers and songwriters. Wright formed Stevie Wright & the Allstars for live performances, the line-up included, Johnny Dick on drums, Tim Gaze on lead guitar, and Warren Morgan on piano. In April 1974 he released his debut solo LP, Hard Road, which featured the single "Evie (Parts 1, 2 & 3)" released in May. The song was written and produced by Vanda & Young, it became a hit—the only 11-minute song to chart at No. 1 anywhere in the world and is now regarded as an Australian rock classic. By mid-1975, the Allstars had transferred to John Paul Young and Wright formed the Stevie Wright Band. By 1976 Wright was addicted to heroin, which he had reportedly begun using during his time in the cast of Jesus Christ Superstar. He was hospitalised and undertook methadone treatment. His mental health was further exacerbated after his self-admission to the notorious Chelmsford Private Hospital in Sydney. Director Dr Harry Bailey administered a highly controversial treatment known as Deep Sleep Therapy which was alleged to treat drug addiction by a combination of drug-induced coma and ECT. Many patients, including Wright, suffered brain damage and lifelong after-effects. The scandal was later exposed and Dr Bailey committed suicide. In 1982, Wright joined Vanda & Young in their studio band, Flash and the Pan to provide vocals on their album, Headlines and the related singles, "Where were You?" in July, and "Waiting for a Train". Wright retired and lived on the South Coast of New South Wales. Sadly last night the 27th December 2015 we lost Stevie at Moruya Hospital on the New South Wales South coast. Here to download is Stevie's album from 1991 "Sings The Easybeats" (AVM-004). The cover gives no producer or band members unfortunately.  R.I.P

"Since this album is among the top rarities in my collection, with scarcely more than a dozen known copies worldwide (according to Acid Archives), I was shocked to not only see it listed here, but with a half dozen ratings! There are truly some SERIOUS music collectors on this site! These guys were a psych/hard rock power trio out of mid - late 70's San Francisco. Leader/guitarist/song writer Fred Mabuhay was formerly the bassist with an obscure group called Dakila. Clearly influenced by Mr. Hendrix, he sounds like he would have given the master a run for his money in any battle-of-the-bands competition. Make no mistake about it though, the sound is definitely all 70's, despite the claims of some that it sounds like a long lost late 60's artifact. In fact, had this been released to the mass market, it would, no doubt, have quite a reputation. Excellent wailing guitar is present on virtually every cut, though never in a show-offy, out-of -place style. Instead, we get just the right amount of fuzz and wah-wah to drop your jaw and leave you wanting more. And the production value is also surprisingly good for an obviously low-budget effort, with major label fidelity through out. I have been told that most, if not all, known copies have their own, unique cover. Yet mine has the same one as the picture, so this may have been the intended version of it. Hopefully Mr. Mabuhay can be located for reissue permission, as this one is a clear winner! Grades - 1 A, 1 A-, 3 B+'s, 1 B, and a B-, consistently great!"

Ash Grunwald - Now

Bitrate: 320K/s
Year: 2015
Time: 47:45
Size: 112,9 MB

Tracks Listing:
 1. River - 3:56

 5. Open Country - 4:47

 8. Second Guess - 4:27
 9. Ramblin - 4:22
10. Send Me - 2:42
11. The Least Among Us - 5:38

They don't come much more gnarly sounding than Grunwald (think Otis Taylor), when it comes to singing the blues.
With a guitar drenched in reverb and some sort of studio trickery (bags of echo and vocoder methinks), it immediately reminded me of the remixed R.L. Burnside disc A Bothered Mind (2004) and the cross-over potential that disc had.
Aimed squarely at the blues market that think it's simply 12 bars and an electric guitar, Grunwald wants you on the dancefloor screamin' shoutin' and crunching the beats underfoot. I love, even though at parts it's overblown, the sheer swagger of this disc.  It's got a big heart mixed into a big sound.
What came as a surprise thought, is this is just a three-piece: Grunwald voice and guitar, Ian Peres' keyboards and a six-armed drummer in Pete Wilkins.
Next, leaps out simply because it is Grunwald alone (just like Ramblin' Man on his last album with the reverb button on 11), then it's back to the full tilt boogie that will draw comparisons to the recent Gary Clark Jr album.

Douglas "Doug" Parkinson is an Australian singer who first came to fame with his band, Doug Parkinson in Focus, in 1969. He has had numerous hits on the Australian Top 40 charts.
Parkinson first started singing with a band called The A Sound but, in 1966 graduated to a more professional outfit, The Questions. Led by Rory Thomas (piano, organ, woodwind and brass) the group held a residency at the Canopus Room, colloqually known as "The Can", at The Manly Pacific Hotel in Manly, a seaside suburb of Sydney.
In 1969 The Questions changed personnel and in the process became a four-piece band and took on the name of Doug Parkinson in Focus. This band, made up of some of Sydney's top musicians, Billy Green (guitar), Mark Kennedy (drums) and Duncan McGuire (bass), allowed him to showcase his powerful, soulful voice. With this band he rose to prominence with a number of Top 20 hit records in Australia such as "Dear Prudence" and "Without You" / "Hair", the latter written by guitarist and songwriter Billy Green (aka Wil Greenstreet[1]) in the mid-1970s, when Green composed the soundtrack to the film Stone, Parkinson sang on two tracks.
In 1969 Doug Parkinson in Focus won Australia's prestigious band competition, Hoadley's Battle of the Sounds. Following the demise of that band he joined Vince Melouney's post-Bee Gees supergroup Fanny Adams, which recorded one album and broke up. He then embarked on a successful solo career. He also sang the theme song of the short-lived 1980s soap opera, Arcade.
He continues to be a perennial favourite in stage shows, cabaret, club work and recording until the present day.

Steve Gilbert began playing blues music around the Houston area while still in high school, sitting in at clubs and icehouses before he was old enough to drink. He continued his blues education while living in Austin in the late 1970s and early 1980s. After a stint in Los Angeles, playing in popular roots and alt-country bands in gigs all over Southern California, he came back to Houston in the late 1990s and returned to playing the music he loves, the blues. He helped form the H-Town Jukes soon thereafter, and the band brought its old-school blues sound all over the Gulf Coast while putting out a CD to critical acclaim in 2010. Now out on his own, Steve Gilbert continues to bring the blues back home, whether performing in a solo acoustic setting or with the Steve Gilbert Band. From down-home shuffles to pain-soaked blues ballads, Steve Gilbert brings the listener back to the juke joints of Houston’s past by recreating the classic sound of times gone by.
