Yes! That Bram Stoker! The “Heavy Rock Spectacular” fame ones! They have a new album out and actually it is not the follow-up to their 1972 debut, the band has reformed and since 2007 they have 4 releases, with “No Reflection” being the last of them (1972 “Heavy Rock Spectacular”, 2007 “Rock Paranoia”, 2014 “Cold Reading”, 2017 “Bete Noire” EP, 2019 “No Reflection”). Here’s a little band-info taken from their web, just to let the new “audience” know what all is about: “The band BRAM STOKER was formed by Hammond organist Anthony Bronsdon, guitarist Peter Ballam and drummer Rob Haines who then recruited bass guitarist John Bavin, all of whom were based in their south coast home town of Bournemouth, England. In writing and composing their own material and experimenting with new musical styles, Bram stoker were choosing their own musical direction. Although the band was heavily influenced by the Gothic image, its music varied, and ultimately the band acquired the “Progressive-Classical-Rock-Gothic-Psychedelic Rock” label it is so famously identified by. Anthony Bronsdon’s classical training is augmented by a formidable technique; his Hammond organ sound is majestic, biting and haunting. His stirring ability to integrate his classical interpretation into musical compositions written by himself and jointly with Pete and John, with drummer Rob Haines’ driving rhythms, resulted in a wide variety of unique performances of Bram Stoker songs and instrumentals. Guitarist Pete Ballam encouraged an original approach and his antics on stage were spontaneous and unpredictable, his legendary “Doppler” (a spinning speaker cabinet) had to be seen – and heard – to be believed. Drummer Rob Haines and bassist John Bavin also embraced fresh ideas, providing an individual and creative approach to their role as the rhythm section of the band, whilst John’s melodic themes and ethereal vocals were integral to the Bram Stoker sound. His musical and dextrous bass lines breathed life and weaved unity through every arrangement. Rob Haines applied his own ideas to Bram Stoker’s symphonic style; his inimitable spinning cymbal emphasizes the mood of the song Poltergeist. Bram Stoker enjoyed a wonderful period of interest in the music industry during the period from 1969 through to 1972, and this is shown in the wake of their only release, Heavy Rock Spectacular, in 1972. (The album’s first CD release in 1997 on Alcinous was retitled Schizo-Poltergeist and was given new artwork. Subsequent CD reissues have restored the original name and artwork.) Bram Stoker reformed in 2004. Original members Anthony Bronsdon and John Bavin were joined by a new guitarist and drummer. (tracks 5,6,7)”… So, the album kicks off with “Ballad Of The Bogeyman” with a mystical start while the keys are giving a ‘Medieval’ feeling soon to be changed – thanks to the wondrous gorgeous guitar sound – into a more Progressive-Rock oriented style, kind of modernized but “executed” with a great old-70s feeling! This is more-or-less the overall sound in all of the recordings here. Neo-Progressive Rock well orchestrated and perfectly performed by a tight group of musicians! “Joan Of Arc” is a kind-of-Renaissance Prog tune with lovely female vocals while “Pictures Of Light And Shade” has male/female vocals, a poppy Prog tune with an intense feeling of Nostalgia. On “Ontranto” the Church Organ gives a prestige to the already proggy tune, a lovely song with a remarkable trumpet sound towards its end. “Gotta Get Outta Here” indicates a fantastic rhythmic melody under a more-oriented PROG musical background, reminding me a lot some of the 80s Prog Revival bands of the 70s. “Cut Down The Corn” is Progressive Rock presented here in a more intellectual and sophisticated way, with female vocals and an astonishing violin sound, one of my personal favorites of the album! “Terminate” is a very British-like (what else??? Hehehe…) fresh old-school Prog-Rock while the album closes with a wonderful and up-lifting tune called “Spirit Of The Light”, emerging a strong 80s feeling too and also one of my favorites in here. So, I think that all of you Proggers out there you will really like this one, so get it while you can! (TimeLord Michalis)

Dye has been involved with music since the age of 10. He played guitar, violin, and keyboards in various groups that he formed from 1965-1984. He also has a bachelor's degree in music composition from the University Of South Florida. In 1978 he moved to Los Angeles with his progressive rock group, "Elysian Fields". After changing their name to "Impulse" they released five albums on the Electric Fantasy label. While living in Los Angeles he became a Midi and synthesis specialist for many top artists like Van Halen, Guiffria, Gino Vannelli, and even appeared on Entertainment Tonight as a technical advisor for electronic music. He now operates a state of the art digital recording facility in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Mark Doran, Suzanne Stokes, Joe First, Dr. Jean, Mar. Harman and many others have collaborated with Mark from 1986 to the present. He continues to teach music, write music for hire and arrange and perform material for other songwriters. His next! goal is to do music soundtracks for motion pictures. Mark and Andrew have been co-writing music together since 1988. Their music has been heard all over the world and includes five other CDs besides HOMAGE. Andrew Winton was born in Flint, Michigan in 1971 and moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1982. His interest in music started at age 7 when he began playing piano by ear. He was able to refine his skills when he met his partner in rhyme, Mark J. Dye, in 1987. While completing his degree in Business Management from Eckerd College, Andrew was continually writing and learning music. In 1995, Andrew completed his first album "A Little Progressive". The album contains a wide range of ideas and styles. Andrew draws much of his inspiration from his emotions, events in his life, and nature. In 1999, Andrew released his second album "Shadowscapes". "Shadowscapes" is a further exploration of his ideas and talents. This release marks the sixth collaboration with Mark J. Dye. Timothy Lewis has been using Mark J. Dye as his producer for over ten years. On this release, Mark turned the tables and used his friend as vocalist on the Kansas and Styx homages. The results speak for themselves. Timothy can also be heard on the group Departure’s “Corporate Wheel” CD. Timothy will be releasing his own CD in 2006.

Award-winning San Francisco Bay-area blues band Rick Estrin & The Nightcats will release their fifth Alligator Records album, Contemporary, on Friday, September 20, 2019. With Estrin's harmonica virtuosity and sly soulful vocals, Christoffer "Kid" Andersen's wildly inventive guitar, Lorenzo Farrell's masterful keyboards and Derrick “D’Mar” Martin's funky, creative drumming, the band takes Estrin’s ingenious, original songs to new and unexpected places. 4 UK guys recorded this album in Belgium and only released in Italy. Great stoned trippy organ based psychedelic, strong flute, great musicianship.
Malachi was an excellent band of Acid Rock with incorporation of Latin instruments (congas, bongos, timbales) and progressive basis. In 1971 he released his first plate called Malachi, which had a very particular sound (the guitar does not exist), loaded with Latin elements and changes of very funky rhythms.
The use of keyboard excels of the other instruments managing to become key point of the album. An interesting album with a completely European Line-Up (England-Belgium-Italy) but with a strong Latin influence that makes it exotic and very entertaining………
A very rhythmic with folk and psychedelic touches album, his first song Return of a Stranger with great pace and psychedelia that combine well, their other issues such as Clog Clog 2?unos totally 1 and rhythmic themes and solos only part of the congas, if they heard this serious group paresido something Santana in his first records, for those who like music with a lot of rhythm and psychedelia is recommended this record !

Formed in Sapri in 2005, RPI band Mobius Project finally delivered their debut album in 2014, and what an unexpected little gem it's turned out to be! "Ra Me Nivar" takes its name from an expression from an African dialect used by Italian author Alessandro Baricco in his 1993 novel "Ocean Sea" that refers to a `flying man', which the band use within the music on this album as a `metaphor for contemplative and imaginative events'. In many ways more than just an RPI album with fiery acoustic/electric guitar interplay, colourful keyboards and ardent voices, the band include gentle folk and ethnic elements, as well as offering a few sections in English to present a very cultured and worldly album. But not only does it hold a rich selection of musical sounds, this may be one of the most vocally rich and layered of recent RPI albums, with a subtle production that enhances the warmth of the performances.
The opening title track unexpectedly begins with a chilly synth drone before biting electric guitars and Francesco Magaldi's driving drums enter around Lucio Filizola's raspy charismatic voice. The piece reveals itself to be a gutsy catchy vocal tune, but the band still finds time for grooving jazzy breaks, fiery little bass eruptions, trickles of delicate early A.M hours piano and plenty of twisting time-changes! With its dusty atmosphere and scorched droning sitar strains, `Scorci di Vita su Nastro di Mobius' reminds of the first track from RPI band Raccomandata son Ricevuta di Ritorno's ethnic/middle-eastern flavoured comeback album `Il Pittore Volante', and is initially a dreamy ballad with ravishing acoustic guitar, Gino d'Ignazio's drifting flute, murmuring bass and a sweetly passionate vocal with warm group harmonies. But the electric guitars kick in with a slow-burn smoulder, keyboards dazzle and the vocals snarl with force, revealing that unpredictable edge of danger that permeates all the best RPI albums! `Entanglementalistically Speaking' somewhat controversially for an RPI album utilizes English vocals (which makes the track kind of sound like a different band altogether!), and despite a partly annoying repetitive chorus and a slightly grating seemingly comical element throughout, the constant eerie piano and ambitious Gentle Giant-inspired male/female group vocal arrangement is incredible! Massimiliano Amato takes over the lead vocals from this fourth track, (back to Italian too) and `In Fuga dal Destino' is short and sweet at just over three minutes, the verses a melancholic ballad with Hammond organ shimmering softly in the background before a tougher chorus, and again the group harmonies throughout are sublime. But most ambitious of all is the nine minute, three part suite `L' equilibrista', where Tony Guerrieri's bass, constantly thick and upfront in the mix, really breaks through and takes flight. It opens as a mellow psychedelic rocker with sweetly chiming guitars behind drifting group harmonies, the middle breaks into loopy synth outbursts behind noisy guitar twists, floats into a sighing reflective male/female mantra (Brunella Gianni's voice sounding especially lovely here) and then closes on a scorching electric guitar solo.
Despite probably performing the few English passages more convincingly that some other Italian groups have managed, the group would perhaps be wise to stick to their native language overall, as it's such an important element of proper RPI music, and the current musical environment won't really allow for groups like this to gain larger worldwide exposure. But on the strength of the material on this disc, 'Ra Me Nivar' holds strong tunes with colourful instrumental qualities yet ditches overly-polished and slick production for a sparse, simpler sound that warmly allows all the musicians and especially their wonderful voices to truly shine. It's a superb start for the group, and their debut is a most welcome and very surprising RPI highlight of the last year!

An Italian rock outfit Arcadelt have been founded in 1992 around Rome by 5 musicians - Pierfrancesco Drago (voices), Fabrizio Verzaschi (guitars), Giacomo Vitullo (keyboards), Sandro Piras (drums, percussion), and Fabio Cifani (bass). Apparently with being influenced by early Genesis with "Commedia dell'arte (theatre of the professional … masked improvised performances begun in the 16th century in Italy)".
Following 25 years after after their debut album “Enjoy”, neo-progressive band Arcadelt released their new album “Arc8” on May 20, 2019 via Italian label Lizard Records. “ARC8” represents the closure of a circle born 25 years ago, a project where the passion for the progressive rock of the 70s and 80s gives way to a rock component with a considerable specific weight integrated in it’s style. The lyrics of “Arc8” investigate the multiple personalities expressed by the human being often constrained, by the context, in predefined schemes that do not belong to them. The arrangements translate the conflicts of the soul into a style that wants to be current, without obligations or direct references to the music of the golden age of Italian and progressive rock per se.

 Life Cycle is a very strong debut in any way you look at it: impeccable perfomances of all involved, strong and mature songwriting, tasteful arrangements and even a quite fitting production.
This concept album is very ambitious, specially if you have in mind that it is only their first work. But they pulled it off very well! In fact, Kramer released an album that many other more seasoned bands with 3 or 4 CDs under their belts could only dream of making it. Their mix of symphonic prog and neo is quite original and hard to compare with other groups. The overall sound is melodic and familiar, and yet they have their very own sound and personality (something really hard to achieve, much harder on their debut!). The CD is in fact a long suite with many different swings and moods that takes you to a musical trip any prog fan will love to hear. It is over 70 minutes and it dind?t bore me a second! Songs like the ethereal Escaping Into A Dream, the poignant A Farewell and the 11 minute epic We Mortals are some of the best prog songs I?ve heard in a long time, all varied, with creative arrangements and very well crafted. Marc Besselink?s voice may not be terrific compared to other more technical prog singers, but he more than compensates his limitations with a passion and conviction that makes his interpretations quite unique and emotional. I also have to point out Rob de Jong?s excellent guitar work throughout the Cd, even if the whole band does a great job at the instrumental department.  Highly recommmended!

'The Many Sides Of' is a retrospective roller coaster ride of John Du Cann's career spanning The Attack, Andromeda, Bullet, Hard Stuff, solo material and, of course, his most successful outfit Atomic Rooster, pulled together with the help of John McCoy of Gillan and Angel Air.
The songs are presented here in chronological order and you really get a sense of the musical styles changing from the hippy, happy opener 'Magic In The Air' from The Attack moving to Andromeda and their Black Sabbath inspiring heavy rock sound. Atomic Rooster struck me as to how close they sounded to classic Alice Cooper, particularly 'Tomorrow Night' - more Cooper than The Coop! 'Devil's Answer' was, of course, the big 'Hit' the Rooster had throughout Europe and deservedly so; a great track reaching number 4 in the UK in 1971.
In late '71 John moved on to release material in the guise of Bullet and then Hard Stuff up until '73 when he changed to being a 'proper' solo artist, releasing material under his own name from '77 to 1979. Incredibly John toured Germany with Thin Lizzy, which demonstrates the talents of his playing. John's biggest hit in his solo period was 'Don't Be A Dummy' from 1979, again sounding very much like Cooper. Helped along by the television advert featuring the song for a jeans manufacturer the song reached the dizzy heights of number 33. This collection finishes off with two tracks from the re-united Atomic Rooster from 1980 and sounding very Deep Purple.
Sadly the big 'Attack' came in the form of a Neil Buchanan in September 2011 and John was taken. This serves as a great tribute and reminder, not only to fans of John's work but lovers of the great 'stoner' rock of the Seventies.

Tarantula is one of the many Spanish progrock bands that emerged in the second half of the Seventies, speerheaded by Triana, Blogue and Granada. They have released two albums, these are totally different: the first (1976) contains wonderful, vintage keyboard drenched symphonic prog but the second (1978, another line-up) delivers a harder-edged and more direct approach with hints from early Uriah Heep.
1. Recuerdos (6:00) : The atmosphere in the first and final part alternates between mellow with flute-Mellotron and soft Minimoog flights and bombastic with dramatic vocals and majestic violin-Mellotron eruptions, very moving! The mid-section features an accellaration with Hammond floods and fiery electric guitar, this sound brings German prog bands like Jane and Ramses on my mind.
2. La Arana Y La Mosca (4:20) : First a pleasant harmony of cheerful flute-Mellotron drops, fat Minimoog sounds, Emersonian Hammond waves and fiery electric guitar runs. Then the moods shift from dreamy with tender piano and melancholical vocals to slow with sensitive electric guitar work and a catchy rhythm with a lush vintage keyboard sound (Mellotron, Hammond and Moog).
3. Singladura Final (6:16) : This song starts and ends with a beautiful mellow atmosphere featuring twanging guitar, soft organ waves, a warm string sound and wonderful vocals. The break halfway contains pure rock and roll with heavy guitar and raw vocals, how surprising!
4. Un Mundo Anterior (5:49) : A slow rhythm contains flute - and violin-Mellotron, followed by a very sensitive electric guitar solo and tender piano runs, goose bumps! The tension between the Grand piano, flute- Mellotron and electric guitar is great and carries me away to Progheaven.
5. Imperio Muerto (9:38) : This long track opens with a psychedelic atmosphere due to a haunting organ and ominous fat Moog flights. Then lots of changing climates with sensational Minimoog runs, another rock an roll break and dramatic vocals, excellent!
6. La Danza Del Diablo (3:02) : A mid-tempo song with strong interplay between organ and electric guitar and a swirling Hammond organ solo.
7. Lydia (2:06) : A short piece that sounds Bach-inspired with warm classical guitar and powerful organ.
8. Paisajes Pintorescos (7:00) : This final composition is very alternating with the sound of a harpsichord, fiery electric guitar work and great, very expressive vocals. The final part delivers an up-tempo rhythm with wonderful vocals, lush organ and a harder-edged guitar solo, very dynamic and exciting!
This unknown and often overlooked gem deserves more attention, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The Reverend Blues Revival -
The Reverend  David Ashcroft has long had a dream of a Blues Revival to inspire and move souls through music. “Preaching the blues…” He says. “Hands in the air spirit walking blues…”. David spent 17yrs as pastor/preacher. “…peace, love and FREEDOM!!!” He belts out in cadence… Moving the spirit so the body has GOT to groove, is the magic of these performances. This passion for the blue notes is what drove and developed The Reverend and his Blues Revival. While performing with ElectroGroov Band he reconnected with the amazing Kathy Kidd.
Kathy Kidd has been singing her goose bump raising full tones and pure notes since early childhood in school, church and socially. She was gigging around Fayetteville in the early 80’s when the late Rick Lancaster took her under wing. By the end of the 80’s Kathy was down in New Orleans, LA studying guitar with Marti Jacobs who is a Guitar Institute of Technology bass player. Jacobs taught guitar chops but showed the bass line as well. Kathy found the bass lines were her home. While in New Orleans studying she was also performing with various artists including Sidney Snow. When her mother fell ill, Kathy moved back to Northwest Arkansas and there met Steve Glasspool. As a renowned bass player from Beaumont, TX, Glasspool continued to teach her bass and they performed as a duo around Beaumont for several years. Kathy moved to Hot Springs and has played in the band ElectroGroov for a couple years in the Hot Springs Area and beyond. The Blues is Kathy’s true home. The inception of  KK & The Reverend Blues Revival was inevitable! The music they both play and love is the Blues. Each one knew they would be working on this project together. The Reverend David Ashcroft moves your soul through his keyboard expressions and well-trained vocal contributions. The Rev’s earliest influence was his uncle Alvin Maloch who was a 1940s/50s professional jazz pianist. David’s mother shared the big band and orchestra music she loved and his big brother planted the roots that brought him to the Blues. At 11 he began to take classical piano. School choir and voice training were going on while studying harmonica. In his early 20’s David worked for Capital Keyboards demonstrating organs throughout the state. This is where he met Dale Rich. Dale was a retired jazz Hammond Organ player and concert organist for the Lowrey Organ Company. Mr. Rich embraced and mentored David in jazz and blues organ. Variety is the spice of life they say and this musician embraced the philosophy. David was involved with groups that did full acoustic (Acoustic Fusion), all originals (Tri-Chord), as well as old Rhythm & Blues (Urban City Band). Later he played piano, organ and harmonica with Steve Hester and DeJaa Vodoo who graced the stage at Miglewood Hall in Memphis, TN; House of Blues in Dallas, TX and Juanita’s in Little Rock, AR. This group opened for the likes of Samantha Fish, Eric Gale, Lynard Skynard and Johnny Winter. Supporting Blues in Arkansas is a passion for David. In January of 2018 David performed with guitarist Kenny Mann and the band Cheap Thrills at the 2018 IBC in Memphis.
Kenny Mann’s high energy and excitement are evident as both lead guitar and vocalist. Kenny’s parents gave him a pivotal gift when he was 12 years old. It was a Blues Series guitar and he hasn’t been without a guitar since. He joined the first band (Hair Metal) at barely 15 and by 18 had found the Blues. In 2001 the Guitar Alliance website (on-line guitar lessons) was launched as a way to blend his internet marketing experience with a love for guitar. As the lead singer and guitarist for Spinning Jenny he spent several years playing all across the southern US. Kenny’s voice makes the listener feel every emotion and want to hear more. The blues is a natural home for this talented musician. This was evident when he performed with Cheap Thrills representing the Arkansas River Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. Kenny and The Rev certainly represented with this band for Arkansas during their two performances at Hard Rock Cafe on Beale Street.  Kenny continued as lead vocals/guitar for Adult Summer Camp 2018. Kenny was the front man for the band Cheap Thrills when they played the Historic Arlington Hotel nearly exclusively through the Summer of 2018.
These three decided it was time. With Kenny, Kathy and The Rev….KK & The Reverend Blues Revival had begun!

Founded in Valencia, Spain in 1973 - Disbanded in 1978
-Tarantula was one of the many prog bands that emerged in the second half of the Seventies, speerheaded by known Spanish formations like Triana, Blogue and Granada. They started as a quintet, led by keyboard player Vicente Guillot.
-The melodic, very pleasant sound on their eponymous debut album from 1976 is not like the flamenco inspired groups as Triana, Cai or Mezquita but more close to the Seventies Italian Symphonic Prog (dramatic vocals by Rafael Cabrera evoking Banco and Le Orme along the lush vintage keyboards with wonderful drops of the unsurpassed Mellotron) and German symphonic prog like Jane and Ramses (harder-edged guitar and powerful organ runs).
In 1978 Tarantula released their second album entitled Tarantula II, the line-up has completely changed with Vicente Guillot as the only remaining original member. The music is also a different story: a harder-edged sound with a more direct approach, bringing early Uriah Heep to my mind.
-If you want to check out Tarantula, their first is recommended because it's in the symphonic prog tradition but with a more Italian prog touch. The strong points are the expressive vocals (with a theatrical undertone) and the varied vintage keyboards.

Here is a gem from the Early British Progressive Rock Movement, unfortunately it was both a painstaking as a hardly impossible task to find information from this elusive band. Bram Stoker was a one shot band that released their album in 1972 under the title Heavy Rock Spectacular. In 1999 the label Audio Archive released the album with the same tracks but a different cover (to be seen along with this review) as a reissue CD, a year later the label Black Widow released it with the original artwork and in 2003 the label Akarma released it as CD reissue in a mini LP gatefold sleeve.
The eight melodic and dynamic compositions are Hammond organ drenched, the electric guitar is often distorted (fuzz) delivering some fiery soli but in general it is on the background. Bram Stoker their sound has elements from Atomic Rooster (Born to be free), ELP (Fast decay) and often Beggar's Opera, mainly due to the classical organ sound (for example Bach's Toccata In D-Fuga in Fast Decay and the long Fingal's Cave) and the pleasant vocals. The track Blitz has some Spanish flavored guitar undertones and sounds a bit dark. The final, horror-like song Poltergeist features floods of classical inspired organ.

This album marks the tenth release by this Florida based progressive rock unit. It was formed in 1973 by Mark J. Dye. Fans of prog will love this CD. Mark J. Dye has been involved with music since the age of 10. He played guitar, violin, and keyboards in various groups that he formed from 1965-1984. He also has a bachelor's degree in music composition from the University Of South Florida. In 1978 he moved to Los Angeles with his progressive rock group, "Elysian Fields". After changing their name to "Impulse" they released five albums on the Electric Fantasy label. While living in Los Angeles he became a Midi and synthesis specialist for many top artists like Van Halen, Guiffria, Gino Vannelli, and even appeared on Entertainment Tonight as a technical adviser for electronic music. He now operates a state of the art digital recording facility in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Mark Doran, Suzanne Stokes, Joe First, Dr. Jean, Mar. Harman and many others have collaborated with Mark from 1986 though 2017. He is now retired but continues to pursue projects that he hasn't had time for over the last 40 years. This is the first of these to be released. There are many more to come. In the future look for M J D as the artist's name.

Alexander Rosenhof, geboren am 13. April 1982 in der sibirischen Gro?stadt Omsk, hat im Alter von 6 Jahren mit dem Musikmachen begonnen. Zunachst bekam er Geigen- und Klavierunterricht, sowie Grundlagen von Gehorbildung und Musiktheorie. Mit ungefahr 11 Jahren stieg er um auf Gitarre, ungefahr im selben Alter hat er auch den Computer als Kompositionswerkzeug fur sich entdeckt. Spater steigerte sich sein Interesse an der Musik, als er im Teenageralter erstmals Banderfahrungen sammelte und spater Workshops und Privatstunden von Victor Smolski bekam. Das fuhrte dann zu dem Musikstudium an der Popakademie in Enschede mit dem Hauptfach E-Gitarre, welches er im Jahr 2007 als Jahrgangsbester abschloss, und den international anerkannten Titel "Bachelor of Music" tragen durfte.
Augrund seiner damaligen Affinitat fur virtuos gespielte Rockgitarrenmusik a la Steve Vai bekam er Angebote von Bands, in denen diese speziellen Fertigkeiten gefragt wurden. So tourte er eine Zeitlang mit den niederlandischen Prog-Metal Formationen "Picture of the Moon" und "Sphere of Souls" durch die Metal-Clubs in den Niederlanden, Deutschland und Belgien.
Nach einer Weile fuhlte er sich jedoch musikalisch mehr mit der Bluesmusik verbunden. So grundete er im Jahr 2008 zusammen mit zwei Musikerkollegen das Bluesrocktrio "Bluespam", wo er neben der Gitarre auch den Part des Sangers ubernahm. Au?erdem stieg er 2009 als Gitarrist in der Band des deutschen Singer-/Songwriters Michael Witte ein. Neben den festen Bandprojekten spielt er auch viele Nebenjobs als Aushilfs- bzw. Leihmusiker.
Seit 2007 erteilt Alexander Rosenhof au?erdem Gitarrenunterricht an der Musikschule Obergrafschaft, dem Musikkolleg Mesum und gibt auch private Gitarrenstunden.

Stud were formed in 1970 by Richard Mccracken and John Wilson (from the recently disbanded band Taste who featured Rory Gallagher) and Jim Cregan (of Blossom Toes and later in Family). The album they recorded for Decca's Deram label was an amalgam of rock and jazz and was an outstanding progressive album of its time. The sessions also featured guest appearances by Poli Palmer (of Family) and John Weider (ex-Eric Burdon & The Animals and Family). Although Stud never achieved the acclaim they deserved, their debut album remains highly sought after by aficionados of Progressive Rock.

Growing up in the tough west side neighborhoods of 1950’s Chicago, he didn’t have  much.   Many times, Allen’s Uncle Joe would take him out for a walk that would  end up at the corner bar where Joe would sit Allen on a stool, drop a quarter in the jukebox and depression in teens step outside with his friends to drink a little bit of wine.   While waiting there, Allen would hear all the greats…  Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf,  Little Walter, B.B. King, Jimmy Reed as well as Ethel Merman, Howard Keel, Dewayne Eddy, Elvis, The Moonglows and the Spaniels.  Those days laid the you can check here beginnings of a lifelong passion for music. As a teen, baseball was his claim to fame, but there was a different dream calling.  Allen Kirk has been a natural since the day in 1965 when he sat behind Dirty Red’s drum kit and started playing favorite soul hits. Allen paid his dues on Halsted Street backing up many of Chicago’s greatest at the Kingston Mines.   Across the street at B.L.U.E.S.  he worked with Sunnyland Slim, Bob Stroger, Sam Burkhardt and legendary blues drummer Robert Covington.  It was Robert who took Allen under his wing and schooled him in the blues shuffle.   Allen filled in for Covington behind Sunnyland and later again took Robert’s place when he left Mississippi Heat . From the sizzling shuffles of Magic Slim & The Teardrops, the hard biting grooves of James Solberg, the sweet and soulful sounds of Deitra Farr to the funky rhythms of Johnny Rawls, Allen has mastered the art of staying in the pocket.    In 2003, Allen was the drumming force behind Magic Slim and to increase male potency the Teardrops’ W. C. Handy Band of the Year Award.
Six time Grammy Nominated and currently based in Minneapolis MN, Allen can be found performing both locally and on the road behind a variety of artists from Johnny Rawls to the Twin Cities’ Jimi “Prime Time” Smith.    He enjoys carrying on the tradition of teaching the younger drummers how to play the blues. Barry Cleveland's guitar playing is rooted in progressive and psychedelic rock, branching into ambient, experimental, funk, and various "world music" styles-enhanced by cutting-edge electronics and unorthodox playing techniques. He's also a deft engineer and producer with an idiosyncratic and sometimes iconoclastic approach to recording and mixing. Cleveland's early work was ambient and impressionistic, and his last recording explored instrumental world fusio-but Hologramatron pushes multiple musical envelopes simultaneously. Largely a response to contemporary social, political, and even spiritual realities, Hologramatron may be viewed as a modern-day "protest album" that draws inspiration from a musical continuum spanning art rock, psychedelia, avant-metal, ambient, global fusion, trance, and fun-with two early-'60s pop covers tossed in for kicks. Cleveland is all about sound-from his guitar playing to his compositions to his production-and it is the deeply layered, highly nuanced, and cutting-edge sonics that unify this wildly eclectic material. Hologramatron features virtuoso bass innovator Michael Manring, drummer and percussionist Celso Alberti (Steve Winwood, Airto Moriera), and pedal-steel guitarist Robert Powell (Peter Gabriel, Jackson Browne), along with "avant-cabaret" vocalist Amy X Neuburg, and guest vocalists Harry Manx and Deborah Holland (Animal Logic). Additional musicians include Turkish electro-acoustic guitarist Erdem Helvacioglu, percussionists Gino Robair and Rick Walker, and Michael Masley, a.k.a. the infamous "Artist General." tuned like a guitar-along with myriad effects processors and alternative  playing devices such as a Chinese erhu bow, Masley Bowhammers, and the Ebow. Other than the two covers-Malvina Reynolds' anti-nuke anthem "What Have They Done to the Rain" and Joe Meek's iconic "Telstar"-Cleveland wrote all of the songs on Hologramatron. WALLENSTEIN were a band that transcended a number of musical styles during their decade-plus of existence, from early krautrock to symphonic to space rock toward the end of their existence.
WALLENSTEIN's original lineup was centered around keyboardist/vocalist Jurgen Dollase and drummer Harald Gro?kopf, both of whom would go on to make names even bigger for themselves in the German music business (Dollase with THE COSMIC JOKERS and Gro?kopf as a founding member of ASHRA and later the CENTRAL EUROPE PERFORMANCE). The band was originally named BLITZKRIEG, but as they readied their first studio release the band discovered a prior band with that name so changed theirs and retained 'Blitzkrieg' as the title of that first album.
Gro?kopf would leave the band following the 1975 release of "Stories, Songs & Symphonies", and was replaced by former ZOPPO TRUMP drummer Nicky Gebhard. This began a stretch of several lineup changes in the band, including the Genhard's replacement of Charly Terstappen, who would himself move on as a member of the skirt band THE LORDS; the addition of Achim Reiser on violin and Dollase's brother Rolf on flute; Jurgen PLuta on bass; and Gerb Klocker on guitar.
The band's sound evolved from a straightforward kraut sound into a harder style reminiscent of AMON DUUL II or CAN, heavier on screaming guitar and piano with only sporadic mellotron for accent, and with the addition of violin and flute the band would adapt a truly symphonic sound for their later releases.
By the close of the seventies only Jurgen Dollase remained from the original lineup, and the band faded into oblivion following the 1981 release of "Ssssssstop!".
WALLENSTEIN are legitimate entrants into the progressive archives for their place in krautrock music history, and for the long list of memorable albums they left behind.

Deze website is gemaakt om weer eens aandacht te schenken aan het fenomeen Sweet d'Buster. In de jaren 1975-1980 gold deze band als een echte Nederlandse supergroep. Er speelden dan ook niet de minsten in Sweet d'Buster's meest succesvolle bezetting: Bertus Borgers, Herman Deinum en Robert Jan Stips waren de blikvangers, maar ook Paul Smeenk en Hans Lafaille droegen hun muzikale steentje bij, waarmee de chemie verklaard is die Sweet d'Buster als geen ander van het podium naar het publiek kon overbrengen.
Wat zou er voor nodig zijn om deze heren na ruim 35 jaar weer eens bij elkaar op het podium te krijgen? Bread, Manja, Still Believe, Money Song, Hard Stone Jungle... stuk voor stuk wereldnummers! Menigeen zal zijn gedachten daar zo over hebben... Zeker is in ieder geval dat er in Nederland en Belgie nog genoeg fans te vinden zijn die een avondje Sweet d'Buster hoog in het vaandel hebben!! Jason Ricci and the Bad Kind have a new album, My Chops Are Rolling, out July 19 and what a difference this one is for them! Their very popular Approved By Snakes was brilliant but sometimes brutally dark. This one is much lighter and with much less emphasis on drugs and tormented fights with the Devil. Even the cover is light-hearted! Both of the songs this writer had heard before, “Don’t Badger The Witness” and ”The Way I Hurt Myself” are presented in a more upbeat way, so that even on the painful latter song, the emphasis shifts to the gorgeous harmonica as well as the angst. Of course, lighter for Jason does not mean not provocative! people with children and Atlanta sports fans without a strong sense of humor should definitely skip the third song. I mean, in both cases it is spelled right out, or almost out, in the title. “F— the Falcons(Who Dat Nation)” leaves not much to guess about (title further altered for my readers; there is only one letter missing on the album cover.) But then the man lives in New Orleans and he loves those Saints. He turned his strutting and boasting into a pretty great song, and for non-partisans the sweet singing by Mona Lisa and Ginger Darling of that profane phrase is hilarious. There is a version for radio without the profanity on the album as well. As for the rest of the album, it is filled with treats, from the marvelous instrumental “Going to California” to the fantastic combination of Kathy Dibble’s vocals and Ricci’s harmonica on the soul classic “If You Should Lose Me.” Then there are the light-hearted “My Chops Are Rolling”(with some more football talk and some fine funky jamming) and laugh-aloud “Sleeping on Biscuits.” ”Break In The Rain,” “Snow Flakes and Horses” and “Think It Over” round out the diverse and original tracks.It is good to hear this band playing just as well as they ever have without so many dark overtones. Jason, as usual, is still the best harmonica player I have ever heard, and a strong vocal performer too. You will enjoy this one. Skip that one number if you have to, Atlanta fans!

I was looking to do a double length album and I needed a theme. How about the entire history of Earth? To make sure that a double length album didn't get boring, I waited two years after composing each part before beginning the next part. My theory was I would be in a different mindset after two years and would compose differently. Judge for yourself but I believe it worked. This project took just under 1,000 hours to record.
