Adrian Niles was born and raised on the banks of the Ohio River near the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. Niles grew up listening to his father and uncles hard driving bluegrass band perform stirring renditions of traditional and popular songs from the Seventies and early Eighties. In his early teenage years, the sounds of Hendrix, Dylan and Howlin Wolf beckoned Adrian to the life of a performing and recording artist. Adrian began performing the club scene of the upper Ohio Valley at the age of 15. Along with some school mates he formed the band Legacy, performing mostly Kiss, Hendrix and Led Zeppelin songs, and a few of their own.
2015 has found Niles and long-time bandmate/drummer, Clint Landis at Studio L with Producer Rick Witkowski recording Supermoon, a guitar-driven rock record with Classic Rock and Alt. Blues rudiments. As a lyricist, Adrian Niles speaks with an honest interpretation to the circumstances that affect his life and times. The pairing of Niles’ strong narrative, through his sweet throaty rasping voice, with a bare-bones heavy guitar, drums, bass, keys ensemble gives Supermoon all the makings for a great rock album.

So the blues needs some new blood, right?  Look no further than this brotherly duo, the Peterson Brothers from Bastrop, Texas.  They’ve already lit a fire in Texas, and that spark will spread its raging glory upon the release of this album and their accompanying tour. They first caught major attention at Austin’s Antone’s upon the occasion of Pinetop Perkins’97th birthday party. Guitarist Glenn Jr., now 18, was 14 at the time, while his bassist/violinist brother, Alex, now 15, was 11. Current producer, Michael Freeman, was in attendance and knew he eventually needed to sign them to a record deal.  Freeman didn’t fool around. He enlisted the support of much-in-demand drummer Brady Blade and Chicago keyboardist James Pace to record this debut effort at Blade Studios in Shreveport, LA. The youngsters have a surprisingly deep well of influences to draw from, ranging from traditional and contemporary blues, to R&B, jazz, and even touches of funk and (excuse me) ‘80s disco. The songs, comprising four originals and six covers, include three instrumentals. The Brothers cover Albert King, Little Johnny Taylor, Bobby Bland, Tampa Red and Earl King. But these are not your “phone it in” covers– these have original arrangements and a fresh, bristling energy that seems to be only a harbinger of what excitement the Peterson Brothers bring to their live shows and future recordings. With their parents’ guidance, they have already achieved notoriety. They are endorsed by Fender guitars, and have their own Fender artist web page that touts the “Peterson Brothers” gear they use on stage. They have played the Chicago Blues Festival as well as the 20th Annual Stevie Ray Vaughan Remembrance Ride and Concert in Arlington, Texas. In April, they opened for Willie Nelson at his 81st birthday bash.

Dukes County Love Affair, or “DCLA” have been tearing up the New England music scene with their livewire performances for over three years. Hailing from Martha’s Vineyard, they grew up on an island that is wrought by the duality of adrenaline fueled, celebrity laced, work-all-day-party-all-night summers, and cold, dark, storm-ridden, seemingly isolated winters. But DCLA is surely a band that has found success on the “mainland” and even abroad. Within a few short years, they have played along-side musicians such as Ben Taylor, The McLovins, Kodacrome and, Badfish. Early on, they were discovered by the infamous music venue Nectars, known for establishing the band Phish, most recently Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, among many others. They quickly recognized their talent and decided to take them under their wing. After multiple residencies, and a string of concerts between Boston, and Buenos Aires, DCLA has cultivated a diverse sound blending an eclectic form of Rock, Blues, Latin Folk, Hip Hop and a Gypsy footed rhythm that is sure to induce movement.
Born in a moment of serendipity when three high school friends ran into each other during a boat ride back home, the music began as a way to cure the boredom that can set in on the long harsh winters of the Vineyard. Vocalist Mike Parker, Guitarist John Ripley, and Drummer Jaime Greene, began playing in a shack in the woods, eventually moving to a space above a piano shop. Their friend Jesse Sylvia, a poker player turned venture capitalist put up the loot for their first self-released LP entiled: "How Do They Shine." Adding Phil DaRosa on Bass, their music drifted over the fields and through the woods and eventually all over New England...
Mike Parker was exposed to to the world of performance and entertainment early on. Born in the Florida Keys to a family that at one point even ran an actual traveling circus, Mike’s lyrics contain the wisdom of a worldly man, someone who has seen life first hand and is not afraid to share his take on it. Combining diverse backgrounds, united by a common love for the place that they live, DCLA at its core is a group of friends just having fun creating music.

By the Grace of God is the fifth album released by the Swedish rock band The Hellacopters. The CD version of the album came in three different combinations of the red, white and black cloud and lightning design. The design would become a trademark for the band and was used on backdrops, merchandise, different record covers and in music videos. The LP version released in Sweden had a black cover and vinyl while the European version had a white cover and vinyl. Limited edition versions of the album in Japan and America also featured "Red Lights" and the Rory Gallagher song "Big Gun" as bonus tracks. Another special American version also featured an embossed logo, a fold-up digi pack and a patch.

Jimmy Herring’s Lifeboat – his debut solo excursion released in 2008 – established his talents as a bandleader. Herring’s new Subject To Change Without Notice finds him even more comfortable in that role – and looking to simply his guitar with some very talented friends.Produced by John Keane (who also lends luscious pedal steel to a few tracks) Subject To Change Without Notice features the core Jimmy Herring Band lineup (Herring; keyboardist Matt Slocum; bassist Neal Fountain; drummer Jeff Sipe) with a killer roster of guests. Bassist Etienne Mbappe and drummer Tyler Greenwell swap off duties throughout the album with Fountain and Sipe, and the various combinations of the four prove to be equally adventurous and unfazed by the music’s genre bends. B3 legend Ike Stubblefield is on hand, as is saxmaster Bill Evans; Steep Canton Rangers’ Nicky Sanders plays some wicked fiddle; Bela Fleck brings his banjo to the party; and Jimmy’s son Carter adds some just-right cello lushness to a couple of cuts. “Red Wing Special” gets things going: Herring lets loose with fine Django-Reinhardt-meets-Danny-Gatton-style picking; Sanders flies formation with him, channeling Stephan Grappelli while providing some grace and sass of his own. The Gatton comparison is an easy one to make again later on as Herring and Fleck lead the romp through the happy porch stomp of “Curfew”.While the cover of Jimmy McGriff’s “Miss Poopie” is pure keyboard porn (Slocum mans the clavinet while Stubblefield is somewhere between terrifying and brilliant on the organ), Herring manages to work in a totally wild-ass guitar break, as well. Speaking of keys, check out Slocum’s double-duty work on “Bilgewater Blues” – his organ and clavinet infuse the tune with big dollops of funk. “12 Keys” works its way through the musical alphabet, Herring and Slocum making a challenging musical jaunt sound effortless. “Emerald Garden” is a lovely little acoustic spot in the sun: Mbappe and Sipe provide ever-so-gentle rhythms while Keane’s pedal steel and Slocum’s keys add soft color behind Herring’s wistful-sounding guitar. “Kaleidoscope Carousel” is as advertised – a shape-shifting roundabout melody that manages to stay grounded while doing some serious sonic explorations at the same time. Bill Evans’ sax is the ideal dance partner for Herring’s guitar on the album’s cover of John McLaughlin’s “Hope” – a great chance to appreciate Herring’s master of his own horn-like phrasing. And “Aberdeen” is the theme song just waiting for a movie to be made behind it; Herring’s guitar simply soars with a fine blast of gospelish B3 from Stubblefield at the tune’s midpoint to bless things properly.The album’s unexpected pleasure is another cover: George Harrison’s “Within You Without You”. While the tune is familiar to anyone who’s put an ear to Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band it’s one of those Beatle songs that tends to go overlooked: “Oh, yeah – isn’t that on …?” Herring and his band pay loving tribute to the original, keeping its soul safe and sound while they take it to new places. (Listen to Fountain and Sipe providing rhythmic grandeur to the weavings of Jimmy and son Carter during the song’s opening minutes.)With the song’s melody and vibe solidly established, the band launches into uncharted territory with Herring leading the way. He works his Strat tastefully, coaxing out passages of sound that go beyond the limits of strings and fingers. This is more than shred, boys and girls – this is world soul. When the flying carpet touches down for a revisit of the original theme before the song’s close, you’ll know you’ve been somewhere.That’s the deal with Subject To Change Without Notice as an album, actually: it covers a lot of ground and takes you to many different places. And Jimmy Herring and friends prove to be great tour guides.
